Milano, 6 ottobre (VAGO.MAG) – Exactly 100 years have passed since the birth of Vico Magistretti ( 6/10/1920). To celebrate his centenary, his chair CARIMATE , designed in 1959 for the Golf Club Carimate, still existing in the Como area (Magistretti designed in its entirety, from the architecture to the interiors), today is proposed in two of the original colors: black and fire red by Fritz Hansen. Two small changes agreed with the Magistretti heirs, a couple of centimeters more for the height of the seat and a longer-lasting material for the seat, the ecological rope hand-woven instead of straw.
The structure is made of sc certified beechwood, its various components are assembled by hand and each chair is numbered with a discreet presence plate under the seat. After the Vico Duo chair, reissued last April, Fritz Hansen, who loves Vico Magistretti’s design very much, is once again celebrating its centenary with the Carimate.
